Meet Lynn

C. Lynn Gibson, PhD, DPhil, CFSP, is a Managing Partner of Smith Life & Legacy, located in Blount County, Tennessee. Dr. Gibson is a Licensed Funeral Director, a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner, and a Certified Crematory Operator. He holds two doctorates in social research and practical theology/pastoral care.

As a writer and speaker, Lynn contributes to several international organizations, including the Cremation Association of North America, the National Funeral Directors Association, and the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association. Lynn serves as a Research Associate for Stellenbosch University in South Africa and is also the Co-Founder of the Center for Hope and Wellbeing. Dr. Gibson, and his wife, Dr. Angelia Gibson, currently reside in Maryville, Tennessee and have three sons and one daughter.

Meet Jason

Jason Troyer, PhD is the founder of GriefPlan. He helps over 100 funeral homes & cemeteries connect with their communities through his customizable GriefPlan App, his Facebook Service, and his presentations & trainings. He is also the Community Engagement Consultant for Smith Funeral & Cremation Service and Grandview Cemetery.

Dr. Troyer earned his masters degree in counseling and his doctorate in counseling psychology. He is married and has three daughters.
